Treatment options for immunity disorders

There are many treatments for immune system disorders. Traditionally antibiotics are used to treat common infections. More complicated and complex diseases are treated with a variety of different immune system boosters. These could include steroids, bone marrow transplants, gene therapy and stem cells or immunizations.

There are some effective immune system boosters  (recommended by conventional medical and holistic advice) such as a healthy lifestyle, good nutrition, adequate sleep, regular exercise and reducing stress.

Alternative treatments have become popular now-a-days, and can be used in conjunction with traditional medical treatments. Popular choices in helping to deal with immune system disorders are hypnosis, yoga, biofeedback, aromatherapy, homeopathy and acupuncture. Other options such as hydrotherapy, massage and reflexology are claimed by some to have positive effects on illnesses and disease due to immune system problems.

Nutrition experts say much of what our bodies need to fight off infection can be found in foods. Each of the foods should be eaten every day to boost immunity, nutritionist Heidi Skolnik told Good Morning America . "We should eat these daily, as often as we can, especially in this weather," she said. Plenty of rest is also essential to keeping our immune systems up, she said. Health experts also advise a flu shot as an immune booster.
